Dorothy Locke Thomas, 79, of Berryville, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, in a local nursing home. Mrs. Thomas was born April 10, 1924, in Clarke County, the daughter of Edward Lippett and Lucy Locke Locke. She was a homemaker. She was married to Claude Nelson on Oct. 30, 1954, in Berryville. Mr. Thomas died March 7, 1993.

Surviving are two sons, Grant Johnson of Winchester and Darrell Thomas of Berryville; two daughters, Levenia Kibler of Herndon and Bonita Hott of Boyce; a sister, Matilda Henson of Winchester; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, with the Rev. Bradford Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Upperville. Pallbearers will be Eric Kibler, Mitch Hott, Todd Johnson, and Larry Westfall. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville. Memorials may be made to John H Enders Fire & Rescue, 9 South Buckmarsh, St., Berryville 22611.
