Claude Nelson Thomas, 74, of 309 S. Buckmarsh St., Berryville, died Sunday in Shawnee Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center, Winchester. Mr. Thomas was born Feb. 17, 1919 in Loudoun County, the son of William T and Virginia Stickle Thomas. He was retired from Northern Virginia Lumber Co. and served in the Army during World War II. He and his wife, Dorothy L. Thomas, were married Oct. 30. 1954, in Berryville.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Grant Johnson of Winchester and Darrell Thomas of Berryville; two daughters, Levenia Kibler of Herndon and Bonita Hoyt of Boyce; a brother, James T Thomas of Boyce; four sisters, Lucille Cameron of Petersburg, WV; Elsie Voight and Mandy Wolfe, both of Arlington; and Nina Lunceford of Linden; and eight grandchildren. A graveside Service will be Wednesday at 2 PM in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Upperville, with the Rev. Carlysle Crank officiating. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Enders Funeral Home, Berryville. Memorials may be made to Boyce Fire Department, Box 285, Boyce 22620, or to John H Enders Volunteer Fire Company, 9 S. Buckmarsh St., Berryville 22611.
