RANSON, W.Va. - Edith Gertrude Costello, 101, of Ranson, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson.

Born Oct. 3, 1902, in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Melinda Oates Tomlin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Costello, in 1965.

She retired from the Wright Denny Elementary School cafeteria in Charles Town, W.Va.

She was a member of Murrill Hill United Methodist Church in Harpers Ferry, W.Va.

She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Citizens Fire Co. of Charles Town, W.Va. and Women of the Moose Chapter 1028 of Charles Town.
