Mrs. Katie Broy Stickel, 82, of Rt. 2, Berryville, died Thursday in Winchester Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Stickel was born Sept. 27, 1896 in Clarke County, a daughter of the late Edward and Ida Locke Broy.

Surviving are three daughters, Ida S Leake, Marie Stickel and Rosa Gardner, all of Berryville; two sons, John e. (Bud) Stickel of Berryville and Clayton Stickel of Winchester, four sisters, Mae Thorpe of Manassas, Rose McDaniel of King George, Stella Sturgis of Brentwood, MD and Ethel Kincheloe of Winchester; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. One daughter and her husband, Oliva C Stickel, preceded her in death.

A funeral was conducted Sunday at 2 PM at Enders Funeral Home in Berryville by the Rev. Darryl Maxwell. Burial followed in Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry Jones, Roger Bemusdaffer, Bill McDonald, Albert Nicodemus, Herbert Armel and Cecil Moore.
