Marian Locke "Penny" (Bennett) Dew - Obituary

DEW, Marian "Penny" (Bennett) Locke Marian "Penny" (Bennett) Locke Dew, 73, died Thursday (December 9, 2005) at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital. She was born in Springfield, MA March 12, 1932 the daughter of the late Wallace and Helen (Diamond) Bennett. A life master bridge player, she loved to travel and took a special interest in genealogy. She lived in Massachusetts, Texas, California, Ohio and to her current home of Chester. She was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Locke and later by her second husband, Jimmy S. Dew in 1999.

She leaves behind her children, a son, David Locke of Idaho; daughters, Barbara Locke of Chester, Linda Valenta and Carolyn Cooper both of California; and a step-daughter, Shelli Sellers of Texas. Her two sisters, Barbara Odgers of Niantic and Patricia Kistenmacher of Florida. Grandma Penny will be sadly missed by her eight grandchildren, James Locke, Sarah Arnio, Christina Ellis, Nicholas Valenta, Phoebe Cooper, Curtis, Logan and Meridith Sellers.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, 4-6 p.m. at the Swan Funeral Home, 211 Main St., Deep River, CT. Funeral services to be held 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marian's memory to the American Cancer Society, Meriden Executive Park, P0 Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450 or to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06450.
