Mrs. Mary Agnes Tumblin

Mrs. Mary Agnes Tumblin, 71, died February 25 at her home in Clarke County.

She was born January 20, 1887 in Clarke County, a daughter of the late John and Sarah Catherine Pierce Shepherd. Her husband, Burr Jackson Tumblin died October 20, 1951.

Mr. and Mrs. Tumblin made their home in the county where he was engaged in farming.

Surviving are seven children: Amos Tumblin of Boyde; Lonnie Tumblin of White Post; Elwood Tumblin, Garland Tumblin, Mrs. Della Stickles, Mrs. Dora Smallwood, and Mrs. Madeline Breeden, all of Berryville, and four brothers and one sister: Warren Shepherd of Martinsburg, Earnest Shepherd of Bunker Hill; Marshall and Thomas Shepherd or Bluemont and Mrs. Eva Carter also of Bluemont.

The funeral service was held February 27 at Providence Chapel. The Rev. William C. P, pastor of the Marvin Chapel Community Church officiated. Interment w3as at Providence Chapel cemetery.
