Age 68 - Application for Civil War Compensation dated 6 March 1915 - Shows that he was born in Loudon County, Virginia, he retired at the age of 62 years, he served in the cavalry 35th Battalion/Regiment under Capt. Doudallas company, his immediate superior officer was Colonel E. V. White and Captain Flamus (sp?) Dowdell. He entered service on 1 March 1805. He entered the service at Yellow Sahrols house new Bluemont, Virginia. He left service at the close of the war after Lee surrendered. Left the service at Percellville RFD in Loudoun County, Virginia. He had never applied for a pension before. He is working as a farmer. He stated that he is not able to work due to infirmaties. The value of his house is 500 dollars with personal property of 50 dollars. His current state of health is weakness and general debility. He declares that he is totally disabled. He served with James Duvgall of Round Hill, Virginia and J. E. Copeland also of Round Hill. He has a wife and a small son as dependents.
