Olive Anderson,96,of 79 Luster Drive, Batesville,Ark., formerly of Washington, died Thursday, October 14, 2004, in her home. She was born August 24, 1908, in Enon, Greene County, a daughter of Lawrence and Nannie Lucretia Stickle Filby. Mrs. Anderson was a 1925 graduate of Trinity High School. She taught bible classes, was custodian for 21 years and worked with the Tuesday School for 23 years at Church of Christ on Allison Avenue in Washington before moving to Arkansas in 1996. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the North Heights Church of Christ of Batesville. On December 17, 1927, she married Joseph Franklin Anderson, who died May 26, 1950. Surviving are a son, Carl Michael Anderson of Pasadena, Texas; two daughters Wilma Lucille Cross, with whom she made her home, and Peggy Jean Hammond of Rogers, Ark; 14 grandchildren Keith Hammond, Darlene Williams, Kevin Hammond, Donald Cross, Dr. Randall Cross, Douglas Anderson, David Anderson, Dennis Anderson, Dean Anderson, Debbie Smith, Darla Spaid, Michael Anderson, and Christopher Anderson; 27 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family. Deceased are a son, Richard F. Anderson; a brother Charles R. Filby;a sister, Gertrude I. Doman; and a great granddaughter, Katie Cross.
