CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Bertha L. Holmes, 85, of Charles Town, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at Blue Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Charles Town.

Born April 28, 1919, in Berryville, Va., she was the daughter of the late John A. and Deliah Sipe Clark.

Her first husband, Thomas Stasio, her second husband, Guy Henretty and her third husband, Lewellen Holmes, preceded her in death. She was employed by Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 948 in Charles Town.

She was a Baptist.

She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 1028 in Charles Town, Ladies Auxiliary of Fraternal Order of Eagles 1136 in Brunswick, Md., Ladies Auxiliary of Memorial of VFW Post 3522 in Charles Town, Ladies Auxliary of Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.; and Ladies Auxiliary of Citizens Fire Co. in Chambersburg.

She voluntered at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

She is survived by three sons, Frank Martini of Battle Creek, Mich., Robert Stasio of Arcade, N.Y., and Michael Stasio of Dayton, Ohio; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sisters and brothers.

Services will be Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town. The Rev. Cherise Garrido will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday, Dec. 28, from 7 to 9 p.m.
