Vincent Blaine Zirkle, 82, a resident of the Dogtown Road in Belington departed this life 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, in the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins. He had been in rapidly declining health for the past two weeks.

He was born Feb. 1, 1922, in Barbour County, a son of the late Louis J. and Cleo Victoria McCauley Zirkle.

On June 2, 1946, he was united in marriage to the former Lillian Virginia Delauder, who survives at the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center at Elkins. He is survived by two sons, Roger Zirkle and wife, Linda, of Fisherville, Va., and Melvin Zirkle and wife, Tammy, of Belington; and four sisters, Wilma R. Trytiak of Strongsville, Ohio, Arlene Pallo of Brook Park, Ohio, Oleta Faye Sears of Clearwater, Fla., and Anneta M. Rak of Columbia Station, Ohio. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kevin Zirkle of Virginia, Rodney Zirkle of Iowa, Vincent Zirkle of New Jersey and Heather Phillips of West Virginia; six great-grandchildren, Ryan, Olivia, Katelyn, Victoria, Tyler and Faith Zirkle, and several stepgrandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren also survive. Mr. Zirkle was a graduate of the Belington High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany during WWII. He was employed for 32 years at the Belington Farm Service and was a lifetime member of the Laurel Mountain VFW Post 410 of Belington. He was also a member of the Concord United Methodist Church in Belington and attended the Belington Church of the Nazarene. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour, when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. F.L. “Wink” McQuain officiating and the Rev. Arden Beck and the Rev. Destry Daniels assisting. Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery near Belington where full military rites will be accorded. Mrs. Lillian Virginia Delauder Zirkle, 81, a resident of the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center and a former resident of Dogtown Road near Belington, departed this life at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, in Davis Memorial Hospital following a long period of failing health.

She was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Belington at the Stringtown Community, a daughter of the late William Bright and Mary Etta Moore Delauder.

On June 2, 1946, she was united in marriage to Vincent Blaine Zirkle, who preceded her in death Jan. 17, 2005.

Mrs. Zirkle is survived by two sons, Roger Zirkle and wife, Linda, of Fisherville, Va. and Melvin Zirkle and wife, Tammy, of Belington. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kevin Zirkle of Virginia, Rodney Zirkle of Iowa, Vincent Zirkle of New Jersey and Heather Phillips of Valley Bend; six great-grandchildren, Ryan, Olivia, Katelyn and Faith Zirkle and Victoria and Tyler Anderson; several stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, three half sisters, three brothers, and four half brothers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She attended the schools of Barbour County, was a member of the Belington Laurel Mountain Post 410 Ladies Auxiliary, attended Concord United Methodist Church and was a homemaker and was known for great desire and gift for quilting. Friends were received at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington Monday, Sept. 5, and today until 11 a.m., the funeral hour, when services were conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. F.L. “Wink” McQuain officiating and the Rev. Arden Beck assisting. Interment followed in the Concord Cemetery near Belington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Concord United Methodist Church building fund in care of Brian Poling, P.O. Box 231, Belington, W.Va. 26250. Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements of Mrs. Lillian Virginia Delauder Zirkle.  From 6 Sep 2005.  .
