Norman Tinlin, son of the Andrew Edmon Tinlin and Edna Doris McGee Tinlin was born Monday, January 30, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa and passed from this life Thursday, September 10, 2009 in Osceola at 76 years of age.

Norman received his education in Warren County graduating from the Carlisle High School. He was united in marriage to Patricia B. Reynolds on April 10, 1952 and six children blessed this union.

Norman owned and operated Tinlin Salvage in Des Moines since 1969. He also worked as a handyman and was known to be able to fix almost anything mechanical. Norman known by his boys as the "Ironman".

Family was certainly Norman's number one priority. He was always concerned about his children and grandchildren, where they were and what they were doing. He enjoyed family gatherings and picnics with everyone from his children, grandchildren, siblings and those he considered family. Norman also enjoyed a little time at horse races over the years as well.

Those relatives who preceded Norman in death were his Parents; Wife, Patricia; Sisters, Ethel Pitcher; Elaine Shawhand; Corrine Culley; Patricia Wilkinson and Brother, Theodore E. Tinlin.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his Children, Theodore A. (Carol) Tinlin of Des Moines; Danillya "Dee" Marchant of Venus, TX; Michelle Tinlin of Des Moines; Jeff Tinlin of Des Moines; Robbin Ward of Woodburn; and Douglas "Grid" (fiancé Dawn Osborn) Tinlin of Des Moines; twenty-nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; Sisters, Erma Kerrigan of Laguna Woods, CA; Josephine Yates of South Dakota; Brothers, Richard Tinlin of Camp Verde, AZ; and Andy Tinlin (Yong Song) of Wichita Falls, TX; Sister in law Marge Tinlin of Avon, IA as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousin other relatives and a host of friends.
