The following obit appeared in the Wednesday, January 21, 1903 Clarke Courier:
Death of an Old Citizen
Mr. Frank Locke an old and respectable citizen of this community, died Monday of pneumonia at his home in Lewis Grove. Mr. Locke had resided near here for many years and was well known to all of our older citizens. He served in the famous Clarke Calvary during the war. His age was about 75 years.

Two weeks later the following appeared in the February 4, 1903 Clark Courier:
IN MEMORIAL
In Loving but Sad Remembrance of our father, Franklin H Locke, who departed this life January 19, 1903 in the 67th year of his age. Gone but not forgotten.

From Linda Cassity: This is the daughter of Frank and Hannah Lock:
Lucy V. Locke married 12/24/1902 Clark County age: 23
This is the son of Howard & Matilda Locke:
Edward Lippitt Locke age: 23 Farmer:
REF: Clarke County, Virginia Court House Marriage register 3 Pg. 43

Also, from a Brown researcher (who is friend of Dorothy Thompson who is the cemetery record keeper) shared with Linda Cassity: I also found the unmarked graves of Franklin Hannah Locke, Mamie (Mary) Locke, there's a baby buried there along with two other descendants, which we don't know who they are. Right beside this unmarked grave site is the graves of Matilda & Howard Locke (probably his brother Joshua Howard and his wife Matilda). This researcher also indicated that his records show that Kemp's mother was Elizabeth Willingham.
