Comments: Came to the US as a small Child

John M erected a very plain obelisk with the word CASTREE, in relief at the bottom. This obelisk is located in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Newark , NJ. There are many Castree interments in the nearby plot. The cemetery houses the graves of some of Newark's most eminent citizens.

John M and his son John W were involved in financing a number of contruction projects in NY including finance construction Madison Square Garden and the underpass on Park Ave. that leads up to the Grand Central Building over 42nd St.
