The following obit for Lewis appeared in the August 12, 1987 Winchester Star:
Lewis Tappen Broy, 43,, of Clarke County, died Tuesday in Winchester Medical Center. Mr. Broy was born August 1, 1944, in Clarke County, the son of William D and Kathleen Carter Broy. He was an automobile salesman and a member of First Assembly of God of Winchester.
Surviving with his mother of Berryville, are a son, Larry Broy of Charlottesville; a sister Sandy McFarland of Berryville and a bother, William Dailey Broy of Berryville.
A gravesite service will be at 11 AM Thursday with the Rev. H.L. Wigfield officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville. Arrangements are being handled by Enders Funeral Home, Berryville. Memorial contributions may be made to the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, W. Va.
