CHARLES LACY BROY (1888-1952)

The following obit appeared in the November 6, 1952 Clarke Courier:
FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR CHARLES L. BROY
Funeral services for Charles Lacy Broy of Berryville, who died in the Winchester Memorial Hospital Sunday afternoon were conducted Tuesday from the John H Enders Funeral Home by the Rev. E. S. Ellmore. Interment was in the Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased.

Mr. Broy was 64 years old and had been in ill health for several years. He was born in Clarke County July 10, 1888, he was the son of Mrs. Sally Locke Broy, who survives and the late Charles Broy. His wife, Mrs. Nancy Locke Broy died in 1949.

In addition to his mother, Mr Broy is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Woodrow Heflin of Berryville, Mrs. John Stickles of Grimes, Mrs Garland Fowler of Alexandria and Mrs. Joseph Simpson of Round Hill; three sons, Charles Broy and Ramey Broy , both of Berryville, and Lacy Broy of Purcellville; two brothers John and Elias Broy of Berryville, and four sisters, Mrs. Lewis McDonald, Mrs. Everett Moore and Mrs. Duard Smallwood, all of Berryville, and Mrs. Cleve Moore of Middleway.
