Summary of Events

A great time was had by all attending! Most of the group arrived on Friday and had an informal dinner together Friday night. My Dad, Bud & Phyllis Stickels arrived a day early along with Kathy & Jim Hare and Bud arranged to have almost everyone moved into one building. As a result of his efforts and some mixups by the Harbour Town Properties he was given a 3 bedroom villa to use for his stay. This villa provided a perfect meeting place for all the families to meet. Friday night David & Debbie Stickels arrived from California along with Mark & Lisa Stickels and we all got together in Bud's room. David brought his printout of the entire Stickels Clan and we taped the papers together across the dinning room wall. Most of the group got together for Tennis Saturday morning. By noon on Saturday Donald & Irma Tevis and Richard & Beth Stickels joined our group and we began plans for the days events. Many of the group socialized the entire afternoon in Bud's living room. The highlight of the event was Irma Tevis. Everyone was delighted to meet this new member of our family. For some strange reason Irma had been omitted from previous reunions, and we now know she was sorely missed. Richard brought his computer and spent much of the afternoon updating our family tree information. Saturday night we made reservations at a romantic Italian restaurant. We had almost an entire room with the kids on one table and the rest at another long table. After a great meal we began telling jokes. One after another individuals would stand up and tell their story. There was so much laughing that other people in the restaurant want to join in the fun. Irma and Steve had the best jokes that most of us will remember for years to come. Sunday brought a conclusion to most of the festivities since many of the group had to leave. However, Sunday night there was still a large enough group remaining to have another dinner at a Mexican restaurant. It was an entirely wonderful event and a very special time to connect to family most of us had not seen in many years.
