Joan M. Kellogg, 81, of Loveland, died Jan. 25, 2004, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.

She was born July 11, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Joseph and Mary Wise White. She received her master’s degree in art therapy at Antioch University. She was a registered art therapist for many years and also was a homemaker.

She married Russell F. Kellogg in 1946 in Philadelphia. He preceded her in death. She served in the U.S. Navy.

She moved to Loveland four and one-half years ago from Williamsburg, Va. She had previously lived in Towson, Md., and Clearwater, Fla.

She was a member of the American Society of Psychopathology of Expression and the American Art Therapy Association (ACR).

She received the Lifetime Achievement Award for the development of the MARI CARD test and Mandala Assessment Theory.

She enjoyed reading. She also wrote a textbook on psychological testing.

She is survived by a son, F. Russell Kellogg and Ann Therese Nowlan of New York, N.Y.; three daughters, Kathleen Kellogg-Coffey and Mary Wright and husband Terry, all of Fort Collins, and Grace Kellogg and Craig Woodyard of Richmond, Va.; five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Stephen Joseph Kellogg and Guy David Kellogg.

Memorial services are pending at a later date.

Cremation has been conducted.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Naropa University, Art Therapy Programs, 2130 Arapahoe Ave., Boulder, CO 80302.
