Comments: A continuing problem was to find more facts about an elusive ancestor, Jonathan Allen. Bathsheba Fuller, daughter of Joseph Fuller and Bathsheba Hanchett Fuller of Suffield, CT, had a son in 1735, named Jonathan ( Fuller ) Allen, with the father reported to be "Jonathan Allen". We now believe this elusive hit-and-run father to be a grandson of Edward Allen, the weaver, one of the founders of Suffield. We just can't decide which of Edward's several sons is our Jonathan Allen's father. - From Charles Allen's Family Tree Maker site

The child was born out of wedlock, according to Suffield Historical Society
